Super High School Trial of Despair

zessei_ouji
Ding Dong Dang Dong! A body has been found! You know what that means; someone has disrupted the peace and it is up to the rest of you to bring them to justice! After a brief investigation we will hold a Class Trial to determine who is guilty. Of course there is one teeny weeny catch. If you fail to identify the killer, I'm going to have to punish each and every one of you! Drop by panel room 3 Friday night from 8:30PM-10:00PM to participate in the trial of the century! If you have any questions about how this will go down, ask them here and I'll get back to you ASAP.

question. How will the person know that he/she is the killer? and this sounds fun! The Prinny Detective will help solve this mystery.
zessei_ouji
Good question! After the investigation I will personally select fifteen of you to play a slightly more active role in the trial. Each of these fifteen people will be given a role card that will give them an SHSL title and a testimony to bring forth during the trial! The killer will be one of these fifteen, and they will be informed by their card once they receive it.

Will the role cards be based off of the characters from the game or are they original? I will find it desparingly good if its a mix of the two.
zessei_ouji
All of the role cards will be my original creations. Typically I ask for volunteers for each role and when I find someone who fits my mental image I select them for it. I've been fortunate in that most of my volunteers do a fantastic job making the very loosely defined character their own. Now, that being said, if chance has it that a previous participant in a School Life of Mutual Killing, I am more than happy to select them to participate in the trial. They will still use the testimony given to them on their role card, but I do not in any way expect them to play a part when they could just as easily be themselves! Following previous murders at conventions in Saint Louis, I've had Nanami, Komaeda, Junko, and others step into the ring once again!

Now my hope is building to see some familiar faces. That shall be most interesting indeed. It would be most entertaining to be against veterens like the lovely Celeste and Junko, or others like Makoto and Mondo. Now, How does the Class Trial work exactly? shall it be a simple debate than vote or will we have things like Hangman's Gambit occur as well?
zessei_ouji
Pssh, hope? HOPE?! There will be no hope, of that I can assure you. Only sweet, everlasting despair! The way this will all play out is we will start with an Investigation. The Investigation will last 20 minutes. The body and crime scene will be left exactly as they were when the murder was committed. Although no one may touch the body, I will be available to answer questions regarding the facts. I will not provide any information about the killer nor will I provide any analysis of the facts. After those 20 minutes are up, I will pick volunteers to take SHSL roles while the remainder serve as the jury and the Trial will begin. The Trial will last 50 minutes, and will consist primarily of Nonstop Debate between the SHSLs. The debate will begin with each of the 15 reading off their testimony then will turn to open discussion. The jury will be able to ask questions and make statements about the discussion, but that is not all they will be responsible for! They will also be given a few timed tasks. If they complete a task within the limit, I will reveal one letter of a Hangman's Gambit that may break the case wide open! As the Trial runs to a close I will ask that final statements be made by any of the 15 SHSLs who wish to do so. This will serve as the Climax Inference portion where they attempt to lay out events in such a way as to conclusively prove the guilt of one individual. After the Climax Inference has been completed we will hold a vote. A simple plurality will decide who you all think is guilty, meaning whoever gets the most votes-- even if that number is less than half-- is who the group believes to be guilty. If you guess correct, I shall execute the person who disturbed the peace! If not, they get to walk scott-free and I will punish the rest of you.

Sweet, cruel despair... you just seem to raise my hope to experience that, ironic as it sounds. Ahh, I can't wait for the thrills, chills, and kills now!
zessei_ouji
Oh you will feel despair, all right. After all, this panel is recommended 16+. I'm going to scream, insult, demean... all sorts of nasty stuff so the atmosphere gets right tense and hostile
zessei_ouji
And of course we're gonna have music! You know that terrifying weekend white noise when a body is found? We got that. And all those sick investigation and trial tracks? Got them too. So tell your friends, I need more victims!
