I just got into anime over a little over a year ago and I think I want to cosplay but I'm limited on funds. I know it's cheaper to make a costume instead of ordering one. I just don't know what I should go as. Any ideas?

I just got into anime a little over a year ago and I've never actually cosplayed to a con before. I have a pretty low budget being a broke college student and all. So I was just looking for a couple suggestions. Any ideas?
