Black & White Tournament Hosted by Mpls Pokémon DS League

Our Pokémon DS League challenge went over vary well at Detour so we will be hosting a promotional Tournament at AniMinneapolis sometime During the course of the Con. Time, day and other Information is unknown at this time check back for Details. It will be a Black and White DS PvP doubles tournament bracket Style. Rules: Now then, we will be using the GS Cup Rules. We will be doing flat battle so if they are over 50 they will be leveled down for the battles and or Leveled up if under. (Don't worry, it will not effect your game, its only temporary) They are simple, the banned list for Pokémon is as followed, you can use ANY Pokémon you can Catch Naturally in the Game without an Event. Witch means Arceus, Celebi, Darkrai, Deoxys, Jirachi, Manaphy, Mew, Phione, Shaymin, Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta and Genesec can not be used (We are undecided about Zorua & Zoroark at the moment). Now then, Legendaries~ (Dialga, Giratina, Groudon, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Lugia, Mewtwo, Palkia, Rayquaza, Rotom, Latios, and Latias, Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem) you can have but only 2 of on a team MAX and you can only have one of Each Pokémon on your team, same with Items. That means no having 6 Wobbuffet's or 6 Leftovers. Also, there is but one item that is BANNED and this is a GS Cup Rule and it is Soul Dew. One hit KO moves and Evasion increasing moves (How ever Evasion decreasing moves are okay ie Flash and Sand Attack) are all Restricted KO moves (Self Destruct, Explosion, Parish Song, Destine Bond etc), if it cause all Pokémon on the field to faint and the user dose not have another Pokémon in reserve it counts as a loss to the user.

Not to argue, but why would something like Arceus be allowed and not Zoroark? Zoroark i not a threat, and is even used by N in-game.

I'm sure that they're just deliberating whether or not they would like to use it yet in the games is all, but I wouldn't know. They do go by the official GS Cup Rules, so maybe it's not noted in the rules yet about Zorua and Zoroark which is why they're still undecided about it. Either way, I would plan for a team without Zoroark if you do not get an answer, just to be on the safe side. In that same vein, I'm so ready for battling at AniMinneapolis. I competed in the Gym Battles during Detour and had a blast! Sadly, I was so busy that the main day I was planning on tracking down the leaders, Saturday, I lost track of time! However, I'll make time for certain at AM. I've been training since Detour, so let's see where things go. I bet this will go over very well with AM's first year! >:3

First off if you read, Arceus is on the Banned list, "you can use ANY Pokémon you can Catch Naturally in the Game without an Event. Witch means Arceus, Celebi, Darkrai, Deoxys, Jirachi, Manaphy, Mew, Phione, Shaymin, Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta and Genesec can not be used". Also, we decided that we will allow Zorua & Zoroark (Many reasons). As of this year the official Pokémon tournaments are switching it up and only allowing Unova Dex Pokémon, witch I find sad and hope they change it next year. Well in that regard we will continue to use the GS Cup style because even with new Pokémon our rules still apply. Aka any Pokémon you can catch normally in the game without an Event and up to two legendary's. No mater what they add them rules will cover it.

Oh and also, we will also be having a Pokémon give way event also. every person that joins us will receive a secrete Pokémon (In egg) as a memento for joining us.

when exactly will the tournament start? and I'm with cosplaygirl which generation of pokemon will be allowed to compete?

Well its a bit late to effectively answer you guys but the Program book had the info or you could have checked the facebook like posted there that had the event info. This forum sucks and never tells me when there is a new post, notifications are nice huh? But yes, it was every Pokémon Gen 1 through 5. Only the VGC's are locked to 5th gen. So at Detour and if we go to Anime Land it will be the same.
