First time planning for AniMinneapolis

Hello all,
This will be my first year planning to make it to AniMinneapolis, so I'm wondering what tips that veterans have for first-timers. What are the best hotels to go with, if one cannot get a room at the con? What is parking like in the area? Where are the best places to eat? What other tips and/or tricks would you like to share with the class?

Some tips I can give is that, for your first time, don't bring too much money. Though it may be very tempting to get everything in the Dealer's room, bring only a little to moderate and have some money for the restaurants in the area, such as The Newsroom. Great restaurant. Love the food and atmosphere. Another tip is to try to go with friends. This is good for going to a new con area.
